Each coil undergoes a meticulous process that includes shot peening to relieve internal stresses, scragging, and rigorous load testing. The springs are formed on precision mandrels and hot-formed to ensure they maintain their spring memory. A powder-coated finish not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also provides excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring longevity in various environments.

For vehicles equipped with additional accessories, Tough Dog offers a range of spring rates tailored to accommodate extra weight or constant load scenarios. Constant Load refers to weight that is permanently added to the vehicle, such as canopies, steel trays, drawer systems, fridges, toolboxes, rear bars, or spare wheel carriers. Selecting the appropriate spring rate is crucial for optimizing vehicle performance and load management.

Approximate lift heights for Tough Dog coils are as follows: 100mm for TDC949/4 with a light load of 0-300kg, and TDC949/4H for a constant load of 300kg; 125mm for TDC949/5 with a light load of 0-300kg, and TDC949/5H for a constant load of 300kg; 150mm for TDC949/6 with a light load of 0-300kg, and TDC949/6H for a constant load of 300kg.
