The Toyota LandCruiser 70 series utilizes a sleeved cable that connects the cabin lever, operated by the driver, to the brake shoes inside the brake disc.
• The sleeved cable is vulnerable to dirt, water, and kinking.
• The driver-operated lever is subject to the force applied, which may vary.
• The brake shoes inside the disc require precise adjustment for optimal performance. The operation of various clips, springs, and levers is also prone to dirt, water, and heat exposure. The wear and functionality of these components are concealed within the brake disc.
SOLUTION
Our team has re-engineered the original equipment (OE) brake caliper for popular Four-Wheel Drive vehicles and Utes to integrate an electronic park brake, similar to those found in many modern vehicles.
The mechanical hand brake, brake disc, pad, and caliper piston remain unchanged from the OE design to ensure compliance with Australian Design Rules.
When activated, the redesigned brake caliper secures the brake pads against the brake disc, effectively preventing vehicle movement.
• As an additional safety feature, turning off the ignition will also engage the electronic park brake calipers (Auto Engagement).
