Leaf springs represent one of the most enduring suspension designs in automotive history, maintaining their relevance in commercial vehicles due to their exceptional load-bearing capabilities. Engineered in Australia, these progressive rate leaf springs incorporate both primary and secondary stage leaves, ensuring that the vehicle's ride quality remains uncompromised under varying loads.
As the spring compresses under load, the secondary stage engages, effectively preventing excessive sag and maintaining optimal ride height. The manufacturing process is meticulously designed to maximize durability, offering robust corrosion resistance and sag prevention, ensuring longevity in demanding conditions.
With up to three spring rate options available for most applications, these leaf springs provide the flexibility needed to tailor the suspension setup to your specific vehicle requirements. Each spring is precision mandrel and die-formed, oil quenched, hardened, and tempered to guarantee extended service life.
Standard features include military wrap across all part numbers, accurate heat treatment, and construction from high-grade spring steel. Many applications also incorporate anti-friction pads to enhance performance. The springs are pre-stressed to maintain ride height and are rigorously load rate tested to ensure reliability.
For vehicles equipped with additional accessories, there is no need for concern. The available spring rates can accommodate constant loads, which refer to weight that remains on the vehicle at all times. Fixed accessories such as canopies, steel trays, draw systems, fridges, toolboxes, rear bars, or spare wheel carriers are classified as constant loads.
Choosing the appropriate spring rate is crucial for achieving optimal load carrying capacity, ride quality, and ride height. It is advisable to pair raised springs with long travel shock absorbers to enhance performance further.
